Sapphire Rough- 12.7 g - (5)

Lot of Raw Blue Sapphires from Sri Lanka (Ceylon) - 5 pieces, 63.25 ct / 12.70 g - Natural Unheated In auction, a fascinating lot composed of 5 natural blue sapphires in their raw rough state, sourced from the renowned deposits of Sri Lanka (Ceylon). The lot has a total weight of 63.25 carats (equal to 12.70 grams). The crystals present themselves in their natural original conformation, showing the natural growth striations of corundum and a blue hue typical of gems from this celebrated geographic origin. Exposed to a direct light source (as visible in the gallery photos), the samples reveal a striking translucence and zones of vivid and bright color. The most valuable feature of this lot is its total authenticity: the stones are completely natural and untreated (no thermal or diffusion treatment applied). This condition of “no heating” is now particularly sought after by mineral collectors and gemology enthusiasts, as it preserves the earth’s original geological imprint intact. An ideal set for: Collectors of rare minerals and systematic specimens. Cutters and lapidaries who wish to invest in rough material for faceting. Jewelry designers oriented toward unique “rough” styled creations or wire-wrapping. Technical Specifications: Gem Type: Natural Sapphire (Corundum) Form/Cut: Rough / Natural crystal Number of pieces: 5 Total carat weight: 63.25 ct Total weight in grams: 12.70 g Origin: Sri Lanka (Ceylon) Treatment: No indication of treatment / Unheated (No Heat) Note for Auction Participants: the photographs were also taken with the aid of a direct light source/backlighting to best highlight the internal color, crystal structure, and translucency of the samples.
