Toutes les enchères / Art Contemporain / Santicri - Sorry, I'm just a Housemaide
Santicri has participated in numerous internationally renowned art exhibitions. Among the most significant, in 2022 he exhibited his works at the prestigious Palazzo Grillo in Genoa, and in 2023 he was present at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, thus expanding his visibility in both national and international contexts. Santicri was recognized among the Best-Selling Artists of 2024 by Artmayeur, one of the most renowned platforms in the art world. In the same year, he was also included among the top three most searched names on the Catawiki platform, another sign of the growing appreciation for his work. These recognitions highlight Santicri's extraordinary talent and the increasing visibility of his art in the contemporary artistic landscape. Santicri Mixed media Dimensions: 70x50x2 cm Certificate of authenticity - hand signed Limited edition x/8 The work "Sorry, I'm Just a Housemaid" is a bold and provocative statement that challenges the convention associated with the traditional representation of the painting. The artist, through the use of a rag attached and the partial erasure of the work, seems to comment on the stereotyped role of women in domestic dynamics and the degradation of the female figure to mere status of a "housemaid". The choice to title the work with a declaration of apology, "Sorry, I'm Just a Housemaid", adds a layer of sarcasm and self-irony, perhaps revealing a critical message regarding social expectations and perceptions of inferiority imposed on women. The presence of the rag as a tool of erasure seems to suggest a rebellion against the stasis of the iconic painting, reconsidering it through a more contemporary and feminist lens. Partial erasure could be interpreted as a search for liberation from predefined roles or a statement of personal emancipation. Critiques could arise regarding whether the work's provocation risks being misunderstood or whether the act of partial erasure of a historical artwork is considered an iconoclastic act. However, the work undoubtedly opens a discussion on issues of gender, stereotypes and the power to redefine artistic narratives through a new contemporary viewpoint. SHIPPING INSURED! His art stands out in an exclusive context that includes other categories of excellence, such as Rolex, Lego, Louis Vuitton, Porsche, Eames, Macallan, Tintin, Cartier and Pokémon. A talent recognized not only for creative value but also as one of the most promising investments of the year. Born in 1992 in Macerata, Marche, the Italian artist followed a path that, between studies in Geometra and Architecture, led him to collaborate with a resin sculpture artisan. There arose the growing need to find himself and unleash his creativity. His works are sold worldwide, collaborating with galleries in Italy and Europe. His art is widely appreciated and cannot be missing among collectors of street art and pop art paintings and contemporary art. "It is never easy to classify one's art; I try to convey what my eyes see, my way of seeing what surrounds me, and I reinterpret it with a design that harmonizes with modern times: impactful and memorable."
