Toutes les enchères / Art Contemporain / Santicri - Fucking World
Santicri has participated in numerous art exhibitions of international repute. Among the most significant, in 2022 he showcased his works at the prestigious Palazzo Grillo in Genoa, and in 2023 he was present at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, thus expanding his visibility in both national and international contexts. Santicri-artist Technique: RESIN and Marble Powder Dimensions: H37 x L12 x P12 cm Condition: new Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed Edition: gold 100ex The sculpture is a blend of symbolism and irony that captures the viewer’s attention and pushes them to reflect on various levels of meaning. First of all, the gesture of the raised hand with the middle finger elevated is universally recognized as a sign of defiance or rebellion, a bold way to send a strong and unequivocal message. Here, this gesture is amplified by the fact that the hand supports the world itself, suggesting a kind of rejection or critique of the world as it is. It is a visual interpretation of frustration or dissent toward aspects of our contemporary world. The use of this sculpture to represent the world itself, with the planet Earth resting on the middle finger, adds another layer of meaning. It could be interpreted as a critique of global challenges and socio-political tensions we face, or as a cry of alarm about the fragility of our planet. The hand, in this context, assumes a role of responsibility and power, almost as if the artist is saying that the solution to these problems lies in our hands. In its boldness and provocation, this sculpture offers a prompt for discussion and reflection on the contemporary world, the challenges we face, and our role in shaping it. It is a work of art that can generate a wide range of reactions and discussions, just as many contemporary artworks aim to do. The serial number may not correspond to the one in the photo. Born in 1992 in Macerata, Marche, the Italian artist pursued a path that, between studies in Geometer and Architecture, led him to collaborate with a resin sculpture craftsman. There arose the increasingly strong need to find himself and unleash his creativity. His works are sold worldwide, collaborating with galleries in Italy and Europe. His art is widely appreciated and cannot be missing among collectors of paintings and sculptures of street art, pop art, and contemporary art. "It is never easy to classify one’s art; I try to convey what my eyes see, my way of perceiving what surrounds me, and I rework it with a design that blends well with modern times: impactful and memorable."
