Toutes les enchères / Art Contemporain / Santicri - Compressed Icon, La Nascita di Venere
Santicri has participated in numerous art exhibitions of international standing. Among the most significant, in 2022 he presented his works at the prestigious Palazzo Grillo in Genoa, and in 2023 he was present at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) in New York, thereby expanding his visibility in both national and international contexts. Santicri has been recognized among the Best-Selling Artists of 2024 by Artmayeur, one of the most renowned platforms in the art world. In the same year, he was also listed among the top three most searched names on the Catawiki platform, a further sign of the growing appreciation for his work. These recognitions highlight the extraordinary talent and the increasing visibility of Santicri in the contemporary artistic landscape. Santicri Mixed media Dimensions: 32x20 cm The work is accompanied by a manually signed Certificate of Authenticity Limited edition x/100 A universal image is subjected to real pressure. The surface of the canvas is no longer neutral: it is pulled, bent, restrained. The icon loses its stability and becomes matter, body, visible tension. The clothespins are not just a formal element, but a gesture. They lock the image in an intermediate state, as if it had been stopped while trying to expand or escape. The face remains recognizable, but is compressed, forced into a new form that alters its balance. The work plays with the contrast between classical perfection and contemporary physical intervention. What was untouchable is manipulated, restrained, almost disciplined. It is not destroyed, but transformed under pressure. From this emerges a reflection on how stable the images we know truly are: a minimal force is enough to change our perception, to reveal that even the most solid icons can be bent, deformed, and rewritten. Oil on canvas 350 g/m², mounted on a spruce wooden frame, frame not included. The artwork will be shipped with random numbering. SHIPPING INSURED! The package is carefully packed. The artist established himself in 2024 as one of the most sought-after names on Catawiki, placing himself immediately after icons such as Kaws and Banksy. His art stands out in an exclusive context that includes other categories of excellence, such as Rolex, Lego, Louis Vuitton, Porsche, Eames, Macallan, Tintin, Cartier and Pokémon. A talent recognized not only for creative value but also as one of the most promising investments of the year. Born in 1992 in Macerata, Marche, the Italian artist pursued a path that, between studies in Geomatics and Architecture, led him to collaborate with an artisan sculptor in resin. There arose the increasingly strong need to find himself and unleash his creativity. His works are sold worldwide, collaborating with galleries in Italy and Europe. His art is widely appreciated and cannot be missing among collectors of paintings and sculptures of street art, pop art, and contemporary art. "It is never easy to classify one’s art; I try to convey what my eyes see, my way of seeing what surrounds me, and I rework it with a design that suits modern times: impactful and memorable."
