Salvador Dalí & J. Peter Moore - Les dîners de Gala - 1973

Charming illustrated edition of this extravagant culinary book that embodies the surreal universe of the artist by transposing his pictorial imagination into the table setting - All the recipes featured in this cookbook have been meticulously developed by a "chef" eager to keep anonymity as secret as possible - Designed as a gastronomic manifesto, the work gathers twelve thematic chapters inspired by splendor and excess, where recipes and illustrations mingle in a baroque celebration of sensuality and pleasure - Dalí distorts the tradition of cookbooks by introducing bold visual compositions, stylized photographs and texts infused with humor and provocation, turning each dish into a work of art - This book, rare and sought after, bears witness to Dalinian obsessions with excess, opulence and the fusion of the arts, and remains an indispensable reference for lovers of surrealism and bibliophilia - Salvador Dalí & J. Peter Moore - The Gala Dinners - 1973 - Taschen - 321 Pages. Very good condition of the binding, the volume in its full hard cover with illustrated dust jacket on a gold background, slight signs of use, dust jacket slightly scratched, smooth back adorned, first cover page titled in black, superb color illustrations covering the plates - Very good interior condition, white title, the work enriched with many photographs including color culinary plates off-press, including on double page spreads, with the translation by J. Peter Moore, page layout by René Toutain with the collaboration of Max Gérard, endpapers nicely illustrated in good condition, clean interior, no foxing - Delivery service available within a few days -
