Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life roots in artisanal craftsmanship. For forty years he worked in the shadow of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest level in resin processing, varnishing, and electroplating. The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” a skill of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to vibrant, modern, and ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his craftsmanship into a recognized language of contemporary art, proving that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent.
