Toutes les enchères / Art Contemporain / Sagrasse (1966) - Calavera Pop Art
Sagrasse (Sandro Grassetti, born in 1966) is a Marche-based artist whose life is rooted in artisanal craft. For forty years he worked in the shadows of his workshop in a small municipality among the hills of the Marche region, specializing at the highest levels in resin processing, varnishing and electroplating. The turning point of his life comes with the COVID-19 pandemic: the forced lockdown and the suspension of time become an emotional catalyst, pushing him to unleash the artistic urgency he had always kept inside. What for decades had been “only” a technique of excellence thus becomes the means to give life to modern, vibrant, ironic pop sculptures. Today Sagrasse has transformed his artisanal know-how into a recognized language of contemporary art, showing that it is never too late to give voice to one’s most authentic talent. Title - Calavera Pop Art Technique: resin Dimensions: 30x23x15 Condition: new. Certificate of authenticity - hand-signed. Edition: limited edition 299ex. - Fucsia The work will be carefully packed and shipped with courier service with tracking. In recent years his work has gained important public and private recognitions, culminating in participation in prestigious exhibitions. Among these, notable is his presence at the Contemporary Art Exhibition "Arte Venezia" in 2025, the collaboration with the Center for Art and Culture VERUM, and the inclusion of his works in the renowned Private Collection Fuser. From craftsman to a hallmark of the Neo-Pop panorama, Sagrasse demonstrates how a lifetime of experience can transform into pure and recognized artistic expression. Sagrasse is not simply an artist who uses resin; he is a master artisan who has freed the technique from the constraint of function, putting it at the service of imagination. His works are colorful mirrors in which our society is reflected: pop, brilliant, ironic and irresistibly modern. Sagrasse’s work fits perfectly within the path of New Pop Art and Urban Art. While the association with Banksy is evident for its strong satirical charge, irony, and the ability to reinterpret icons of daily life or pop culture in a critical light, Sagrasse’s universe closely dialogues with other giants of the international scene such as Jeff Koons, KAWS, Takashi Murakami, Mr. Brainwash, Richard Orlinski. The object is an exclusive Sagrasse creation. It is a handcrafted work, conceived and made entirely in Italy. The small imperfections that may be found are the natural characteristic of entirely manual workmanship. It is recommended not to expose to heat sources; clean with only a soft cloth, without detergents.
