Ryan Dart is an industrial designer, furniture designer, and maker based in Raleigh, North Carolina, and the founder of bones-studio, an independent furniture design and manufacturing studio known for its sculptural approach to contemporary furniture. Dart’s work explores the intersection of art, furniture, and modern manufacturing. His pieces are distinguished by strong geometric forms, carefully considered proportions, and an emphasis on construction as part of the visual language of the object. Combining traditional craftsmanship with digital fabrication techniques such as CNC machining and 3D printing, Dart designs and produces pieces that balance function with a distinctly sculptural presence. His furniture has been exhibited at design events in New York and High Point, and his work received Best in Show at the 2018 Architectural Digest Design Show. Through bones-studio, Dart continues to design and produce limited and distinctive furniture pieces intended to function as both usable objects and statements of contemporary design.
