A still life with shells and a small butterfly placed on a table edge. An homage to the Dutch 17th-century painter Adriaen Coorte, 1665-1707, known for his tranquil serene still lifes with asparagus, shells, butterflies, wild strawberries and other fruit. The panel size is 18 x 24 cm. This painting is housed in a beautiful handmade Italian frame. Profile 7 cm wide, overall size 30.5 x 36.5 cm. The frame is matte Bordeaux deep red and decorated with gold rosettes and a matte gold inner and outer edge. As a special addition a matte black inner frame allowing the painting to detach from the frame. The painting and the frame form a harmonious serene unity.
