Extensive lot of 16 original Royal Copenhagen Christmas plates. The characteristic cobalt blue relief decorations depict different winter and Christmas scenes from the long-standing Danish annual plate series. Royal Copenhagen introduced its annually issued Christmas plates in 1908. For each year, a new motif was created that draws on stories and motifs from Danish culture, landscape and Christmas tradition. The visual impact is created by a relief worked into the shape and the varying intensities of the characteristic blue. Royal Copenhagen confirms this tradition existing since 1908 and the elaborate relief technique. The lot comprises 16 plates from different years. Years: 1984, 83, 82, 81, 80, 79, 78, 77, 2x 76, 75, 74, 73, 1973, 72, 71 A beautiful complete collection from the well-known Danish collector’s series with 16 different Christmas motifs. The item will be wrapped in padded foil and surrounded by bio-styrofoam, shipped in a double-walled carton via DHL.
