Reliquary - Alloy

Relic: Cloth of Saint John the Evangelist, with a wax seal and silk threads, as in the photo John (Bethsaida, circa 6 AD – Ephesus, 101 AD or the years immediately following) was an apostle of Jesus. Christian tradition identifies him with the author of the Gospel of John, and for this he is also attributed the epithet of the Evangelist. He is considered a Myrobite saint. According to the narratives of the canonical gospels, he was the son of Zebedee and Salome and the brother of the apostle James the Greater. Before following Jesus, he was a disciple of John the Baptist. The reliquary does not contain human remains. This object is offered exclusively for its historical, cultural, or decorative value. No religious significance is claimed, implied, or supported. Over time, some elements of the reliquary may have been modified or restored.
