Bring home a masterpiece of Qing dynasty painting refinement for your collection! Let yourself be won over by the exotic charm and extraordinary mastery of Chinese export porcelain with this magnificent lobed tray in hand-painted porcelain, in the vivid Famille Rose enamels, dating to the last quarter of the 19th century. The central composition is enclosed in a shaped frame that reveals a court life scene of great elegance and narrative: nobles finely dressed in traditional attire, surrounded by refined furnishings and ritual vases. The outer rim, lobed with a gilded profile, is enriched by rich natural symbolism: lotus branches, peony flowers, plum blossoms in bud, and magpies in flight, symbols of prosperity, joy and good fortune. This tray is not a mere decorative element, but a tangible testament to the centuries-long dialogue between Eastern art and Western collecting elites. The brilliance of the Famille Rose enamels, applied with the era's characteristic three-dimensional texture, gives extraordinary luminosity and visual depth. Placed on a vintage display case or on a table stand, it will immediately attract the attention of the most discerning collectors. The piece arises from a complex, entirely manual workflow. After the first firing of the white porcelain body, master painters applied the colored enamels and the details in genuine gold by hand, then subjected the tray to a second firing at low heat to fix the colors. Famille Rose porcelain has marked the apex of world ceramics since the 18th century. Late 19th-century Qing pieces with figurative subjects and shaped borders are today in very high demand and appreciation at major international auction houses, and are continually sought after by Asian art collectors.
