RARE INTENSE GREEN PYROMORPHITE

From our selection of collectible minerals we present a rare intensively green Pyromorphite in botroidal and mammillated aggregate, from the Crabulazzu Mine, Arbus, Sardinia. Moreover, it is characterized by botroidal and mammillated crystallization of an intense green color that coats the matrix, with a rare provenance for the species, elements that increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that highlight its natural structure and visual impact. Pyromorphite is a lead chlorophosphate (Pb5(PO4)3Cl) belonging to the apatite supergroup, and typically forms in the oxidation zone of lead ore deposits through alteration of galena. The characteristic green color is linked to the chemical composition and to trace amounts of other elements substituting for phosphorus in the crystal lattice. The Sulcis-Iglesiente and Arburese mines in Sardinia are historically known for lead and zinc production and have yielded in the past specimens of pyromorphite of notable collecting interest. This is an ideal specimen for mineral collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the context of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for rare exceptions always indicated in the description. The photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in shade may occur depending on the device or ambient light.
