Rare Doulton Lambeth Faience Stork Charger

A large ceramic charger in glazed stoneware, featuring sgraffito and hand-painted decoration. The central well depicts a heron standing in a marshland landscape with a smaller bird in flight. The scene is executed using fine incised lines for feather and plant detail, colored with a palette of soft gray, ocher, and green against a pale sky. The rim is decorated with a stylized border of alternating blue and green leaf motifs within brown bands. The reverse is hand-signed Doulton & Co Lambeth and artist monogram.
