Rare amethyst scepter with ankerite

From our selection of collectible minerals we offer a rare group of amethyst crystals with a scepter habit containing dolomite and ankerite from the Capurru Quarry, Osilo, Sardinia. In addition, it is characterized by numerous amethyst crystals in the typical scepter habit, with an intense purple color and good transparency, mounted on a matrix covered by a yellowish crust of dolomite and ankerite that creates a clear and pleasing color contrast, elements that increase its aesthetic value and mineralogical importance. The specimen stands out for the quality of crystallization and for the overall aesthetic balance, with features that enhance its natural structure and visual impact. Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz (SiO2), whose color is due to traces of iron within the crystal lattice, subsequently altered by natural radiation present in the geological environment. The scepter habit forms when a smaller crystal rapidly grows on a pre-existing stalk, giving rise to a characteristic broadened termination. Capurru Quarry, near Osilo in the province of Sassari, is a Sardinian locality known among collectors for the production of amethysts associated with carbonates such as dolomite and ankerite, the latter a ferriferous variant of dolomite itself. This is an ideal specimen for mineralogical collections, display, and for those who appreciate the natural beauty of minerals, also in the fields of crystal therapy and lithotherapy, according to the properties traditionally associated with the mineral species. All minerals are 100% natural and untreated, except for rare exceptions always indicated in the description. Photographs are taken with professional lighting to best enhance colors and details; however, slight variations in shade can occur depending on the device or ambient light.
