Ramos-Pinto Tawny Port – Original Wooden Case (OWC) of 4 Bottles | Vintage 1982 | Portuguese Port Wine Important Note for Collectors: This original wooden case was opened today (23 October 2026) after decades of sealed storage. During the opening, one wooden slat/section of the case suffered a break (see photos). Therefore, the buyer can choose whether to receive the lot with the original wooden case (damaged but authentic, with vintage stenciling) or bottles only (professionally packaged without the case). Please indicate your preference when purchasing. The Lot: An exceptional opportunity to acquire 4 bottles of Ramos-Pinto Tawny Port in their original wooden case, vintage 1982 (as stenciled on the case: "CONF. TIPO G/82"). This is a true cellar treasure from one of Porto's most historic houses, founded in 1880 and renowned as supplier to the Portuguese Royal House ("Fornecedor da Antiga Casa Real"). Provenance & Authenticity: • Original Wooden Case: Stenciled "RAMOS PINTO PORTO / 4 B.LIE PORTO TAWNY" with markings "449-9" and "831". The case has been opened today after 40+ years of sealed storage. • Bottle Condition: All 4 bottles feature pristine black capsules embossed with the Ramos-Pinto crest in gold ("RAMOS-PINTO PORTO"), original "Vinho do Porto Garantia" neck seals with individual serial numbers (101060, 101187, 101356, 101477), and excellent fill levels (base of neck). • Labels: The iconic black labels with the Royal Coat of Arms are in very good condition, showing only minor signs of age. Historical Significance: Ramos-Pinto is one of the few Port houses that remained in Portuguese hands (later acquired by Roederer Champagne), maintaining traditional methods. This 1982 Tawny represents the classic style: aged in wood, developing nutty, caramel, and dried fruit characteristics while retaining freshness. Shipping Options: 1.
