Queen - A Day At The Races (Japan) – 1976 1st Pressing –...

Highly collectible original 1976 Japanese first pressing of Queen's A Day At The Races, issued on Elektra under catalogue number P-10300E. This is the authentic Japanese release from the album's inaugural year, housed in the deluxe gatefold sleeve and retaining the complete original Japanese package: the ¥2,500 OBI strip, both standard inserts, and most notably, the rare early plastic photo card. Early P-10300E copies are documented with this additional plastic card insert, while later pressings are typically found with only the standard two paper inserts. A surviving example with the photo card present represents a far more desirable and complete early configuration, making this copy considerably more valuable to serious collectors than typical Japanese issues of this title. The standard Japanese package comprises a black-and-white Japanese liner-notes sheet and a double-sided glossy colour picture insert, all present here alongside the original OBI and the scarce early photo card. Released in 1976, A Day At The Races followed A Night At The Opera and continued Queen's ambitious mid-1970s studio period, produced by Queen themselves. The album features major tracks including "Tie Your Mother Down," "You Take My Breath Away," "The Millionaire Waltz," "You And I," "Somebody To Love," "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy," "Drowse," and "Teo Torriatte (Let Us Cling Together)." ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original gatefold sleeve remains solid and attractive, showing normal light signs of age and handling consistent with careful ownership. No major structural damage; the artwork and presentation remain very nice overall → VG+ OBI / Inserts: Original ¥2,500 OBI present. Both standard inserts included: original Japanese black-and-white liner-notes sheet and original glossy colour double-sided picture insert. Rare early plastic photo card insert present and intact. Vinyl (EX): The vinyl is in excellent condition, retaining a strong original gloss with only minimal signs of previous play or handling. A very clean and attractive example throughout → EX ⸻ Details * Japan 1st pressing, 1976 * Elektra P-10300E * Gatefold sleeve * Original ¥2,500 OBI included * Original Japanese liner-notes insert included * Original glossy colour picture insert included * RARE early plastic photo card insert included * Fully complete early copy
