Vintage pieces of jewellery from the 1980s are currently experiencing a great renaissance. As far as fashion is concerned, the 80s were an era full of expressiveness and elegance. One thinks of black and white blazers with wide shoulder pads, elaborate perms, red lips and eye-catching jewellery that drew attention to itself. However, this exciting time of prosperity not only produced costume jewelry, but also pieces of jewelry that captured and preserved the lifestyle of those years. This ring is one such piece. The quality of its materials and the craftsmanship clearly set it apart from many works of the same period. Its design is self-confident and thrives on the tension of the gemstones. A natural ruby sits in the center, flanked by four first-class diamonds. The white light of the diamonds unfolds a special brilliance, as the goldsmith has used an artistic trick: Their almost invisible prongs made of white gold make the stones appear to float weightlessly. Bands of precisely cut rubies are set into the ring face and form a dark red, sparkling surface that looks like a stage. At its center, two slightly flared rubies break through the strict geometry and lend the ring a lively dynamic. The result is a piece of jewellery full of elegance and excitement, a true jewel of the 1980s that still brings the glamour of the era to life today. We had an appraisal carried out on the ring, which confirmed the quality of its materials. It came to us here in Berlin.
