Portrait of the Countess of Fuente Blanca. 18th century

Descriptio Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 52 x 39 cm and 65 x 53 cm. Bust portrait of a woman with a direct gaze and serene expression, dressed in aristocratic attire typical of the 18th century. Her updo with curls framing her face and the insignia or decoration pinned to her chest, which underscores her social standing, are particularly noteworthy. The composition focuses attention on the delicate modeling of her features and the soft gradation of light emerging from the dark background. The brushwork is restrained and precise, with special care taken in the flesh tones and the nuances of the clothing. The work adheres to the conventions of 18th-century noble portraiture, where compositional restraint and formal elegance reinforce the dignity and social standing of the sitter. Due to its age and history of use, this lot may show signs of wear and previous interventions. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, no specialized technical testing has been performed.
