PORTICO CLOCK, Glass globe and inlaid wooden base (with minor chips)

In chiselled and gilded bronze. Set on an oval base, the uprights—featuring busts of armoured Egyptian women—support the case, which is adorned with eagles and laurel leaves. The white enamelled dial displays the hours in Roman numerals. Suspended by a wire. Early 19th century. Height: 38.5 cm. A matching globe is included, with a wooden base decorated with inlaid palmette motifs. (Some wear to the gilding, signs of use, damage to the globe)
