Porsche - Coffee table - Wood

A special wooden chest with a Porsche KG inventory plate, carefully restored and converted into a characterful coffee table. The well-used wood, the metal details and the preserved inscriptions make this object a true eye-catcher for Porsche enthusiasts, automotive history fans and industrial interior lovers. PORSCHE BACKGROUND The inventory plate present bears the inscription: Dr. Ing. h. c. F. Porsche KG Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen Bestandsaufnahme Nr. 3138 This inventory designation points to a history within Porsche's corporate inventory. The designation ‘KG’ fits the company name before the transition to Porsche AG in 1972. The exact year of manufacture and original use are not documented. Its use in racing or on specific circuits is not confirmed but is very plausible. The preserved plate is a particularly historical detail. Together with the original text on the lid and the visible signs of wear, it gives the chest its own identity. A STANDOUT FOR THE CAR AND RACING ENTHUSIAST For a Porsche lover or race fan, this table brings the look of old workshops and the world of classical motorsport into the home. A fitting centerpiece in a mancave, beside a racing simulator or in a seating area with model cars, race posters and other collectibles. Also in a tough bachelor apartment, a bachelor pad, the combination of weathered wood and black metal comes into its own. Think of a place for a leather sofa, on a quiet rug or beside a display cabinet with a car collection. The Porsche plate is a detail that invites closer inspection and gives the table conversational value. A statement piece for an industrial, rustic or eclectic interior, but also a distinctive contrast in a cleanly decorated living room or study. THOROUGHLY RESTORED The chest has been completely disassembled to reinforce the construction. Damaged wooden parts were replaced and finished to match the original wood. The original wooden top has been reinforced for use as a table. As many original parts as possible were preserved, including the old nails. Where necessary, a few nails were replaced out of sight. The wood has been treated locally with stain or left in its original state. The Porsche inventory plate and the text on the lid have been preserved. PRACTICAL STORAGE SPACE The later-added black metal treble-legged legs give the table an industrial look. The lid can open and provides space for automotive magazines, remotes, controllers and other items. The rubber floor protectors help prevent slipping and protect the floor from scratches. DIMENSIONS • Width: 75 cm • Depth: 50 cm • Total height: 46 cm • Leg height: 26 cm CONDITION AND DETAILS Sturdy, restored construction with no known functional defects. The original age and signs of use have been consciously preserved and are part of the chest's character. There is no key available.
