Porcelaine de Paris - Vase (2) - Jacob Petit style...

Magnificent pair of porcelain vases, attributed to porcelain of the “Old Paris” era, “Vieux Paris” or “Old Paris,” in the ne Rococo / Isabeline style of the 19th century. They are often also called wedding jars, vases, or altar flowers. Due to the design features of both pieces they may be related to manufactories such as Fontainebleau, following the tradition of renowned artists like Jacob Petit. They stand out for their intricate polychrome natural reliefs and elegant details painted in gold or gilding, with exuberant yet carefully crafted ornamentation that features splendid sinuous shapes of the flowers and branches that cover their contours. Each piece bears marks on the base in the porcelain itself (characteristic of the estimated production era) and on one of the vases a signature is visible that is probably the author’s. Taking into account their age, they are in good condition; note that there are some chips in some flowers and on the base of one of them. Nevertheless, these flaws or wear do not detract from their overall aesthetics. Please examine the photos closely, they are part of the description. Dimensions: total height 25.5 cm, width 16.5 cm and depth 11 cm at the mouths of the vases; and 10 x 8 cm at the base. Both the description and the photos show the characteristics and condition of the product. Read and observe carefully. If you have any questions or need more information, you can contact us.
