Pierre Alechinsky (1927) - Leporello - Suite von 4 Lithografien - 1992 - H.C

A special suite of four interconnected lithographs by Pierre Alechinsky, executed as a so-called Leporello. Bottom right hand-signed in pencil. Bottom left numbered. Special H.C. edition (Hors Commerce). About the work: The four sheets form a single graphic sequence. Alechinsky combines bold, black outlines and freely drawn shapes with collage elements from historical handwritten documents. The old script becomes part of the composition and forms an intriguing contrast to the spontaneously and almost playfully appearing figures. Published in 1992 by Éditions Galilée, Paris Framing: The work has been professionally and high-quality framed, on black linen, in a handcrafted black wooden frame with Plexiglas Optical HC. Frame size: approx. 26 x 72 cm. About the artist: Pierre Alechinsky (born 1927) is a prominent Belgian painter and graphic artist and one of the leading figures of the CoBrA group. His distinctive visual language blends gestural abstraction with influences from East Asian calligraphy and a spontaneous, free line. His works are represented in major international museum collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam. With his extensive oeuvre spanning painting, drawing, printmaking, and literature, Alechinsky is among the influential European artists of post-war art.
