An important issue of one of the leading French magazines devoted to contemporary photography during the 1980s and 1990s. This summer issue is largely devoted to the year’s major photography events, notably the 1995 Rencontres Internationales de la Photographie d’Arles, as well as to several major figures in the history of photography. The contents include, among other things: a major portfolio by Édouard Boubat, *Ses modèles nus*; a special feature titled “A Summer of Photography” devoted to the 1995 Rencontres d’Arles; a study on Tina Modotti, *Histoire d’une héroïne*; articles on Claude Cahun, Florence Henri, Antonio Brigandi, Jean-Luc Cormier-Katrein, Herbert List, Michel Séméniako, Horace Bristol, and Lutz Dille; sections devoted to exhibitions, sales, books, events, and the emergence of digital photographic practices. The cover features a photograph by Lutz Dille (1959), while the issue as a whole offers a particularly representative overview of the artistic and historical debates surrounding photography in the mid-1990s.
