Photochrom Zurich (XIX) - Alger, arabes se disputant

Circa 1895, 22x16 cm. "Alger, arabes se disputant", very pretty view animated by Photochrom Zurich. Very beautiful period photolithographic print, free and not mounted (rare). Very nice preservation of contrasts, colors and levels of detail. Signed and captioned in gold letters in a cartouche at the bottom of the print. Small PR conservatoire, to enjoy. Will be shipped with a neutral pH sleeve (ideal for preservation under good conditions). Founded in Zurich at the end of the 19th century, Photochrom Zürich — which became Photoglob Zürich in 1895 — specialized in distributing color views obtained from black-and-white photographic negatives. Several of these prints, notably for the Orient and North Africa, drew on images by traveling photographers such as Félix Bonfils, whose shots served as the basis for these compositions between photography and lithography.
