Historic pendant with rose-cut diamonds in silver and gold Elegant historic pendant made of silver with a thin gold back, attached by means of XRF analysis. The refined design is richly set with rose-cut diamonds and has a graceful, hanging form that is typical of jewelry from the 19th century. The pendant is set with 27 rose-cut diamonds varying in size from about 0.9 to 3.6 mm. In the center there is a striking pear-shaped rose-cut diamond of about 5.6 x 4.3 mm, which forms the centerpiece of the design. The current hanging ring was added later and is therefore not perfectly vertical relative to the pendant. Based on the construction and finish, it is likely that this piece originally formed part of a larger jewel, such as a brooch, and was converted into a pendant at a later date.
