Scientific name: Cypraea diluculum (Reeve, 1845) – often also placed under the genus Palmadusta diluculum; in German-speaking regions known as Dawn Cowrie or Daybreak Porcelain Snail. Origin & Localities: Western Indian Ocean; this premium specimen comes from the renowned coral reefs of East Africa, primarily collected by divers off the coasts of Tanzania (Zanzibar / Mbudya Island) or Kenya (Mombasa). Habitat: Shallow-water zones and coral reefs at depths of 1 to 5 meters. The animals live well hidden and are usually found during the day under rocky coral blocks or in mud-dusted reef crevices. Size & Condition: 29 mm – an absolute exceptional and record size for this species (normal size is usually 18–24 mm; specimens of 27 mm or more are already regarded as "Big Size" in collector circles).
