OTTOMAN SILVER RING WITH INSCRIBED OVAL STONE

Ca. AD 1500 - 1700 A silver ring with a broad hoop and an oval bezel set with a carnelian intaglio engraved with a two-line Arabic inscription. The shoulders are decorated with applied leaf-shaped plaques bearing incised foliate motifs. Geometric patterns of intersecting lines and hatched bands extend around the hoop.
