OTTOMAN SILVER RING WITH CALLIGRAPHIC INSCRIPTION
Ca. AD 1700 - 1800 A silver ring with a broad hoop expanding into a rectangular bezel engraved with an Arabic inscription within a linear border. The broad, angular shoulders are decorated with scrolling tendrils bordered by incised lines. The hoop tapers towards a plain lower section. Size: D:17.93mm / US: 7 3/4 / UK: P; Weight: 7g Provenance: From a private UK collection; earlier purchased on the London art market in the 1990s.
