A deep charcoal and smoky-black field occupies most of the composition, while a luminous horizontal passage emerges gradually through the darkness. The light appears almost as a distant horizon, creating a sense of depth, silence and suspended time. The surface is rich in subtle texture and expressive brushwork. In the lower section, the dark tones move in broad circular gestures, giving the painting a quiet sense of movement beneath the luminous area. Very discreet touches of aged gold appear within the transition between light and darkness. They are deliberately subtle, allowing the work to change according to the position of the viewer and the surrounding illumination. The varnished surface creates delicate iridescent effects. Under certain lighting conditions, some of the luminous areas can appear almost white, while under softer or warmer light the aged golden and smoky tones become more apparent.
