Oluce - Vico Magistretti - Lamp - Atollo "Ghost" - Perspex

a genuine piece of Italian design history: the famous table lamp Atollo, designed by Vico Magistretti in 1977 for Oluce and winner of the Compasso d'Oro Award in 1979. This specific specimen is a rare historical first edition in its largest version, made entirely in opaline Perspex (PMMA). This variant was produced by Oluce only for a short period and finding an example on the market today, especially in this condition and in the most substantial format, represents an extraordinary and rare opportunity for collectors and lovers of mid-century design. The item does not bear the adhesive graphic brand, but the absolute Oluce originality of the era is certified by an email from Oluce confirming its originality and is recognizable by all the constructive and philological details, which clearly differentiate it from modern replicas: • Original contemporaneous cord and dimmer: the lamp preserves its original power cord from the period, complete with the original light intensity regulator (varialuce) signed Relco, a historic Milanese brand leader in premium electrical components and a longtime Oluce partner. The dimmer is perfectly functional and modulates the light impeccably. The lamp is in excellent vintage condition, with minimal signs of wear. price 1200 euros negotiable plus possible shipping.
