Olive Gorge Stream - Petra Meikle de Vlas

Olive Gorge Stream by Petra Meikle de Vlas Painting 20.0 x 40.3 :: Green Resin Painting by Petra Meikle Olive Gorge Stream is inspired by the quiet earthy waterways that sit tucked between rock rainforest and slow-moving current. Olive green shallows drift into deeper darker greens — the kind of natural gradient you see along untouched river bends and hidden gorges. Metallic stone-like textures mark out the rocky edges giving the piece a grounded almost geological presence as though you’re looking down from above at a landscape shaped gently over time. There is a deep calmness to this work. The water appears still untroubled by wind or movement its surface carrying soft swirls of mossy green pigment that evoke the peaceful slide of freshwater over sand and stone. Along the edges the rich dark greens of dense vegetation dissolve into the terrain echoing the wildness of Australia’s forest waterways. Despite its quietness the piece is visually powerful. The contrast between the luminous green water and the textured metallic rock formations gives it a strong presence in a room while still feeling natural and organic. From a distance it reads as a tranquil landscape; up close it reveals fine details — layered tones subtle ripples and mineral-like effects that give depth and realism to the scene. This artwork brings a sense of earthy stillness into a space making it ideal for interiors that favour calm nature-inspired tones and organic textures. It’s a piece that feels both soothing and alive — a moment of peaceful water captured at the edge of the forest. :: Type: Painting Medium: Watercolor Style: Impressionist Subject: Seascape Width: 20.0 Height: 40.3 Depth: 1.4 Weight: 22 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
