O. Delgado - Las sandías XL

The Watermelons A composition that turns everyday objects into a game of shapes, contrasts and color. The fruit, the fish, the ceramics and the striped fabric coexist in an spontaneous scene, where each element contributes its own visual rhythm. The intense red of the watermelon stands out against the greens of the vegetation and the blues of the tablecloth, creating a powerful and highly personal chromatic combination. The free, visible brushstrokes bring movement, moving away from a meticulous representation to give prominence to expression and to the painting matter itself. The work starts from the traditional genre of still life and takes it into a contemporary, fresh and carefree language. The recognizable blends with a personal interpretation, in which color not only describes the objects but builds the composition itself. The Watermelons celebrates the beauty of the everyday through a direct, vital and unpretentious gaze. • Artist: O. Delgado • Technique: Acrylic on canvas • Measurements: 90 x 70 cm. Depth 5 cm.
