Antique silver bracelet with a richly built openwork link pattern and a decorative hollow drop pendant. The bracelet consists of several rows of interlocking links. Smooth round links are alternated with finely textured links that come together in the middle around small flower rosettes, creating an almost lacy pattern, but with plenty of volume and presence on the wrist. Hanging from the bracelet is a large hollow spherical pendant, divided into several decorative facets with stylized ornaments. This too is surprisingly well preserved and has no notable dents or damage. Both on one of the end rings of the bracelet and on the eye of the pendant there is the Dutch V-mark for “foreign works.” This mark was used between 1906 and 1953 for foreign silver offered in the Netherlands for assay. It thus indicates that the bracelet was imported and assayed in the Netherlands during that period, but does not precisely date the production itself. Based on workmanship and style, the bracelet is estimated to be from circa 1900–1920. Despite its age, the bracelet is in exceptionally good antique condition. Especially given the hollow construction, it is remarkable that the links and the pendant have been preserved so well. Only minor signs of age and wear are present.
