icole Lubbers is a Dutch visual artist from the eastern part of the country. She is known for her innovative and idiosyncratic approach to art and works with different styles, techniques and visual forms. Lubbers was proclaimed Artist of the Year 2024 at the Belgrade Biennale, received the Institutional Award of the Municipality of Montecosaro and achieved second place at the World Art Awards as Most Innovative Artist 2024. In addition, she was listed among the 100 best female artists in the world and recognized as Master in Art. Internationally her work has been seen and planned for exhibitions in New York, Venice, Florence, Belgrade, Belgium, China and Montecosaro, in addition to exhibitions in Dutch galleries. A particularly highlight is Beyond the Surface, a solo exhibition on Times Square in New York. This margin is necessary to wrap and secure the cloth properly around the stretcher.
