Newport, Rhode Island. Newport Exchange Bank. 18xx $50. PCGS Currency

ewport, Rhode Island. Newport Exchange Bank. 18xx $50. PCGS Currency Very Fine 30 Apparent. Hole Punch Cancelled; Small Rust Stains. Remainder. No. None. Plate A. No. None. Plate A. Offered here is a handsome Remainder that supposedly represents the Newport Exchange Bank. Per one of our previous descriptions, it is possible that this piece was among a number of samples produced by RWH. Yet this example is rather curious when held against its peers. Here a pair of triangular cancellations are concurrent with the Cashier's and President's title seen after the signature panels suggesting that this could be a "test note" or a spurious impression. PCGS Currency comments "Hole Punch Cancelled; Small Rust Stains; Whitman Plate Note". Estimate: $200 - $300. Provenance: From the Caine Collection.

Estimation:€107.13
