Unique Coincard from the War Years – Sign of Exclusion, 1942 The Star of David from Enschede A moment of forced separation and remembrance Imagine a city under occupation. It is 1942. In Enschede, Nijverheid produced 569,355 Stars of David. For every Jew in the Netherlands, four stars were made, to be sewn onto clothing. A small piece of fabric, but a powerful symbol that deprived freedom and safety and marked the wearers as targets of exclusion. This event shows how systematic stigmatization was applied. Legislation, production, and social control came together to separate, isolate, and wound a community. Ordinary people were confronted with a daily sign of injustice that defined their identity and existence in a time of war and occupation. In this Coincard that memory lives on. A coin from 1942, simple in form, but rich in meaning. It is more than metal. It symbolizes remembrance, reverence, and the necessity to never forget how exclusion and injustice can be imposed. Although the past was heavy, the legacy remains alive in remembrance and awareness. This Coincard is a silent tribute to the inhabitants of the Netherlands who faced exclusion, and to the power of memory to keep history alive. A piece of the past in your hand. A reminder of suffering and courage. A time that keeps speaking, so that we never forget. **** Serial numbers are issued at random **** Unique Coincards, commemorative edition.
