Toutes les enchères / Ethnographie / Natural ruby in fuchsite sphere – a rare color...
This exceptional sphere of rubies in fuchsite unites two distinctive minerals in a particularly contrasting and rare combination. The luminous green base matrix is composed of fuchsite, a chromium-bearing variety of muscovite, which gives the stone its fresh, almost living color impression. Inlaid within are numerous rubies in vivid pink to purple hues, sometimes clearly delineated, sometimes softly embedded into the surrounding rock. Some of these inclusions present themselves in clearly recognizable crystalline structures, which adds depth and character to the sphere. The highly polished surface brings out the natural play of color especially intensely: the interplay of rich green, warm yellowish tones, and the striking ruby specks creates a vibrant, almost mosaic-like optics. Depending on the viewing angle, new details emerge, giving the sphere a dynamic and fascinating presence. Ruby in fuchsite is among the more sought-after combination stones, since it represents a special connection both optically and mineralogically. The harmonious union of strong colors and natural structure makes this piece a striking focal point with an unmistakable character.
