Montblanc - StarWalker Midnight Black Metal - Fountain pen

Here we present a design masterpiece with a strong, bold, and distinctly contemporary character, perfect for those seeking a writing instrument with a stealthy, technological look: the Montblanc StarWalker Midnight Black Metal Fountain Pen. The design of this model markedly departs from the maison’s classic resins, offering a unique tactile and visual experience. The barrel and cap are made entirely of metal and feature a sophisticated matte finish with horizontally incised guilloché lines. This textured material is beautifully enhanced by a total-black ruthenium coating, which gives the instrument a dark gray/gunmetal shade with unparalleled charm. The finishes, glossy and mirror-like, create an elegant tonal contrast with the matte body. Crowned by the aerodynamically shaped silhouette is the iconic transparent dome at the top of the cap, inside which floats the famous Montblanc white star emblem. The heart of this fountain pen is its magnificent 14-karat solid gold nib (Au585). To maintain absolute aesthetic coherence with the rest of the pen, the nib has also undergone ruthenium plating, presenting a stunning dark finish, finely etched with the Montblanc logo. As documented by the images showing the pen disassembled, the filling system is cartridge-based, accessible by unscrewing the solid grip section from the metal body. The cap, threaded, can be securely screwed onto the back end during writing for optimal balance. The condition of the object is to be considered generally excellent. The metal structure is solid, free from dents or deformations. The ruthenium plating is well preserved on both the guilloché work and the glossy parts, showing only the very light and normal hairlines due to ordinary, careful daily use. The solid gold nib is in perfect condition and ready for use. The upper transparent dome is crystal-clear and the emblem is intact.
