Montblanc - MUHAMMAD ALI EDIZIONE SPECIALE 1942 Full set - Fountain pen

Only a few athletes are celebrated and honored as Muhammad Ali, the three-time world heavyweight champion, whose legendary moments in sport and civil rights activism have made him one of the most influential athletes and humanitarians of the 20th century. As an athlete, Ali shook the world with his strength, skill, and personality, becoming a world heavyweight champion at just 22. However, his greatest triumph came from his humanitarian efforts. Made in precious black resin, the cap resembles a boxing bag while the barrel edge resembles the tape boxers use to wrap their hands. The cap features various design elements, such as a famous Ali quote and a butterfly inspired by this typical fighting style: float like a butterfly, sting like a bee. The pointed cone picks up this notion and is engraved with four lines representing the ropes of a boxing ring. The inscriptions on the cone refer to Ali’s victory at the 1960 Rome Olympic Games and to his first world heavyweight title won in Miami in 1964. The details of his victory, namely winning in the seventh round by technical knockout, can be found on the crown of the cap. To celebrate his first title, the white resin Montblanc emblem is adorned with a 1. To underscore this achievement, the clip has the shape of a boxing championship belt and bears his name. The solid yellow gold Au 585 nib handmade shows a boxing glove.
