Montblanc - Meisterstück LeGrand No. 146 - Fountain pen

We present at auction an enduring icon of luxury writing: the famous Montblanc Meisterstück LeGrand No. 146 fountain pen. This model embodies the very essence of Hamburg craftsmanship, a timeless classic cherished by generations of professionals, writers and collectors around the world. The body and cap of this masterpiece are crafted in traditional glossy black resin, an arrangement of supreme elegance with warm gold finishes. The metal details include the characteristic tapered pocket clip, decorative rings, and the majestic solid gold nib, finely engraved with the number 4810 (the height of Mont Blanc), the maison logo, and the hallmarks of the precious metal. To seal the object's prestige, the unmistakable Montblanc white star emblem crowns the rounded top of the cap. From a technical standpoint, the instrument features the traditional and reliable piston-filling system, whose mechanics are complemented by the distinctive striped ink window along the barrel that allows you to monitor the remaining ink level. Unscrewing the cap reveals the pen’s beating heart: a magnificent solid 14K gold nib (585) in a single tone, beautifully inscribed with the number 4810, the maison logo, and the metal’s hallmarks. Close-up photographs certify the perfect cleanliness and structural integrity of the nib and its finned feed. The conservation state of this exemplar is classified as in excellent overall condition. The precious resin preserves a splendid depth and luster, and the gilding retains its brilliant shine. In strict accordance with our policy of total transparency, only minimal and microscopic surface marks resulting from careful and normal use over time are evident, which in no way compromise the exceptional aesthetic harmony or the superb writing performance of the piece.
