The composition is articulated through the use of a spatula, creating a rich impasto texture in faceted blocks of color that fragment the background, sky, and water into a dynamic grid. The sailboats, with stylized and angular forms, are constructed from intersecting planes of purples, cobalt blues, oranges, and blazing yellows, evoking a sunset reflected in horizontal, rhythmic brushstrokes across the water’s surface. A small white sun acts as a focal light point in contrast with the warm palette, while the repetition of the sail shapes and their abstract reflections creates a deep sense of movement and architectural luminosity.
