Moldavites are minerals formed from the fusion of material due to the impact of a large meteorite on Earth’s surface. Moldavites are associated with the impact crater located at Nördlingen Ries (Germany), from which they were ejected to the surroundings of the Vltava River in the Czech Republic (hence the name) and have an age of formation of 14.5 million years.
