During the Second World War, motorised medical transport became increasingly important, helping medical personnel evacuate casualties more efficiently. The iconic American military Jeep was also widely used for casualty evacuation, sometimes adapted to carry stretchers. Willys-Overland and Ford were major producers of military Jeeps during the war. Larger, enclosed ambulance vehicles were also used to transport wounded personnel with greater protection from the elements. This model evokes that important chapter in military history. Its design resembles a traditional enclosed military ambulance, although the exact historical vehicle type represented has not been conclusively identified. ## Vintage Character and Collectible Appeal With its olive-green finish, prominent medical insignia and military markings, this large-scale model has the look of a classic military vehicle.
