Toutes les enchères / Arts asiatiques / Mirror - enamels, Silver - China, Qing period

Rare double-sided dressing mirror, China with enameled relief, Qing dynasty period. A masterpiece worked to an extremely high level; the front features a circular mirror with a polylobed profile (lobed), enriched by a refined and deep perimetral beveling of the frosted glass. The back plate is made of embossed silver and coated with rich fired multicolored enamel: in the center a figure of an emerald-green frog, surrounded by a vibrant three-dimensional micro-marsh ecosystem consisting of small fish, crabs, shells, aquatic insects, and tadpoles. A lateral portion recreates stylized ocean waves in shades of blue and white. The frog figure protrudes clearly from the plane, offering a natural grip or serving as a decorative pedestal. The perimetral mounting is entirely made of silver, finely hand-embossed with continuous raised phytomorphic motifs (leaves and buds). These rare portable mirrors traditionally formed part of the bridal dowries of China's high aristocracy. In good condition with normal signs of wear. Weight: 434 g. For all details, refer to the photos (in person the details and the beauty of the particulars and the vivid colors will stand out even more). It will be professionally packed and shipped with a tracking code.
