Meerschaum and Gourd Calabash Pipe - Meerschaum pipe - .925 silver

Crafted from a genuine, naturally grown African gourd (calabash pumpkin), seasoned and dried to a beautiful warm honey-amber patina. Fitted with a removable top insert made of premium Meerschaum, which takes the direct heat of the tobacco and darkens beautifully over time. The meerschaum bowl is elegantly trimmed with a wide, solid Sterling Silver rim. The rim bears a crisp set of official British hallmarks stamped by the Chester Assay Office, • circa 1907: Mark: B & Co (Broadway & Co., renowned English silversmiths). • Purity Mark: The Lion Passant, certifying .925 sterling silver purity. • Town Mark: The three wheat sheaves and a sword, representing Chester. • Date Letter: The lowercase style "g" denoting the year of assay. A well-preserved antique collector's piece showing an authentic, rich coloration on both the gourd body and the meerschaum top, complete with micro-scratches on the silver trim consistent with its age and history.
