The center features a glass paste depicting the face of a child. This precious and refined object testifies to the early interest of Venetian artisans in glass and filigree. The glass paste shows a clear inspiration from the Phoenician glassmaking tradition. The piece can be dated approximately between the 12th and 13th centuries.
