This object is a very rare Gothic bronze three-king candlestick (also known as a hybrid candlestick or two-armed pricket candlestick) dating from the 13th/14th century (circa 1275-1350). This type of candlestick was mainly produced in the Low Countries (the Southern Netherlands/Flanders) and Germany (Nuremberg). Dimensions: 10.7 x 8.3 x 7.6 cm Weight: 285.51 g Condition: excellent condition - completely intact with slight traces of corrosion Hybrid design: It combines two different ways of placing a candle. It has a central vertical pin (pricket) to insert a candle, and two lateral candle sockets where candles can be placed. Construction: The candlestick stands on a characteristic round, disk-shaped base that rests on three modest feet (tripod base). Often the upper piece with the arms was loosely over the central pin, allowing it to be rotated or adjusted.
