More information at www.maxmodolo.com Weight 2.15 kg. Sculpture-vase in stoneware with an almost square section, of a more massive and architectural character, created with the kurinuki technique. The surface, a blue-violet and gray base, is entirely traversed by dense drips of primary glazes (red, yellow, green, white, blue) that flow vertically, forming drops and volumetric accumulations. The contrast between the sober geometry of the form and the chromatic explosion of the drips makes the work particularly expressive and contemporary. The glazes of these works are applied in especially abundant, viscous, and dense layers, almost sculptural. During firing, the thick masses of glassy glaze melt and flow freely, forming thick drips, volumetric drops, and irregular accumulations that transform the surface of the stoneware into a painterly-relief. This generous use of glaze is not merely decorative: it creates a strong contrast between the rough, ribbed texture of the ceramic body and the liquid, almost “overrunning” brilliance of the colors. The resulting effect is dynamic and tactile, halfway between ceramics and gestural painting, giving each vase a unique and unrepeatable character.
