Mattel - Barbie doll - 7 Vintage Mattel Barbies (Mod Era

A beautiful and varied collection of 7 vintage Mattel Barbie dolls from the beloved 'Mod Era' (early 1970s). A great opportunity for the collector to acquire in one go a beautiful time capsule of this iconic period! 6 dolls are marked on the torso with "C" 1966 Mattel, Inc. U.S. Patented / Made in Korea (this concerns the patent year for the Twist 'n Turn design) and 1 (the first doll on the left) is marked on the torso with "C" 1958 Mattel Inc. U.S. Patented / Made in Korea. On the right hip there is the marking, on the left hip a number. This number is on the dolls from left to right in the main photo: 5 on doll 1 (1958) photographed with a magnifier (which is blurry, but visible), the remaining numbers clearly visible from left to right: 8, 5, 14, 17, 13 and 9. The dolls themselves were produced in the early 1970s. The set includes iconic Malibu Barbie variants, recognizable by their sun-tanned skin, deep blue eyeliner, and characteristic face shapes. Features: The dolls are equipped with the familiar Twist 'n Turn (TNT) midsection and 4 of them with functional bendable 'click' knees. The feet retain the original pre-formed vintage stance. One doll (third from the left) is fitted with a charming vintage floral hair accessory. The dolls are in neat, played-with vintage condition. The facial makeup on all dolls is still very clearly visible and bright (see detail photos). The limbs and the Twist 'n Turn mechanism function properly. The hands and feet are all intact. The hair is in vintage condition and may show light frizz or styling needs, in keeping with the age. The dolls are sold including the vintage outfits and accessories shown (including a summer green floral-pattern dress, a sunny yellow pantsuit with shoulder bag, a denim playsuit, and a retro beach outfit). The clothing is vintage and may show light signs of wear. Carefully review the extensive photo series for exact details of the stamps, the faces, the clothing, and the overall condition. The photos form an important part of the item description.
